Yesterday, DH and I went to a farm. Had a bbq meal and took a tour at a sheep farm. It's amazing to see a sheep dog which is a border collie, gather the sheep. This dog was full of energy and smooth like an eagle approaching its prey. Without no sound or barking, the dog is able to master this technique, very well trained. Our tour guide had a great sense of humor.
We got to pet and feed the sheep. I was a bit frightened at first when they came in the meet and great area. Of course a few of them were a bit excited or nervous and pooped a bit. I was careful not to step on any. Others were not that fortunate. Bill and I switched off and he got to feed them. After this, we got to see the sheep get sheered. The sheep didn't even kick or resist, she was calmed and relaxed. There is is not soft but a bit rough to the touch. Once the sheep was sheered, their is made into yarn. And this was demonstrated to us. It was time to go back into town, so we had to board the boat.
We did some shopping. Ended up buying a shot glass (gift), 2 bracelets (me), key chain (me), t-shirt (me), shirt (bill), some gifts and a tic tac toe set with sheep and board collie (really cute!).
This afternoon we fly off to Sydney. The flight is about 5 hours?? Then we fly off to Cairns!
It was either Marie Osmond or Jenny Garth. I would have prefered Jenny being in the final 3. Whew! Thank goodness Helio Castenieves made it in and Mel B aka Scary Spice. No offense but I don't see Marie winning this competition. She probably got sympathy votes because of the tragedies that she has been dealt with. Or as she joked, she has the entire mormon population voting for her.
I let a breath of relief to find out that Helio was not vote off. Thank god my friend and fellow Helio fan, Aileen voted for him. Because I am out of the country, I am not able to vote. And by the way, they don't even televise the show over here! Thank goodness for the internet. Again, I won't be able to see the finally.
I think Mel B is going to win it or maybe Helio. I will just have to wait until next week.
1st day We had to find our way to the hotel, which by the way is located in downtown Queenstown. Weather was overcast with a bit of a breeze but warm. Because we are close to the bay, that is the reason for the winds. Once we were settled in, DH and the TS1 (our cute little nicknames) walked over and checked out the place. Cute little shops, a casino "SkyCity" and restaurants. It's tourist season. I played a few slots at the casino but didn't win much or any at all. It was fun though..
2nd day We woke up early to head of to Glenorchy and Arrowtown. Glenorchy was one of the many locations of where "Lord of the Rings". Snow on the mountain tops due to its high elevation. There was a nice trail took us one hour to walk, it was short and flat land. Thank goodness for my hiking boots. They came in handy! Beautiful scenery, lovely mountain, green grass, the lake and of course my trusty guide and walking partner..Bill! What more can a girl ask for??
It was time to head back and grab some lunch. Since we had the car, we decided to go to a gold mining town, Arrowtown. They had a few shops and restaurant. A place to walk around and stretch your legs. We drove back to the hotel to relax a bit and to get our second wind of energy for dinner and some night browsing.
There is still more to do and see in our big adventure. Stay tuned..
Yes, I noticed that the last time I posted, was in August. Well for the very first time I dressed up for Halloween. My co-workers in crime and I were dressed as "flapper girls" the women of the roaring 20's. Everyone loved our outfits. I was in black, Crystal was in red and Aileen was in two-tone (black and white). My work had some festivities with the kids and adults. There was even the best adult contest. Not too many people participated. Beside the 3 flapper girls there were "3 pregnant witches." Well came in 2nd place and guess who got first??? THE FLAPPER GIRLS! We each got a gift certificate. I will post pictures later. There were too many of with cameras and I wasn't able to have pictures taken with my camera.
Well I won't be able to watch the show this season. It premieres on March 19th. How dare they go up against Jack "24" and Heroes. Thanks to DVR we are able to watch one show and tape the other. But there is no way I can watch Dancing with the stars, I will just be able to see the result show the next day.
Today was my day to do the groceries. Darling Hubby came down with what I got so he just took it easy. As for me, I am still recovering but slowly getting my strength back.
I go to Walmart first. Grabs some things. Head over to Trader Joes. Practically everything is empty on the shelves. Due to the Superbowl. I saw a bag of avocados that looked enticing but I thought I can probably get them cheap in Safeway.
I get to Safeway..no avocados! The ones left were shriveled and soft. I got what I needed and headed back to Trader Joes. Okay all the food shopping is done and it's time to go home and check the patient.
Tomorrow at work, all employees get to wear their favorite team colors. Honestly I really don't care who wins. I am going to support the Indianapolis Colts. Although I was hoping it was my home team the Niners that were playing.
Finally! Last year Mountain View was able to get this channel. When it first came out, we weren't able to get it. It came with our cable package. So I didn't bother with it.
Couple of days ago my co worker tells me that she has it. She lives a block away from me and suggested that I check it out.
Asked DH and he went to check, yep we got it! Now TS1 can catch up with her soaps.
Talk about an explosive 4 hours (2 hours Sunday and Monday). Yesterday's show went by quick with drama and action.
We seem to see a different side of Jack Bauer on a personal level. At moments it was sad to see him go through the emotions and scars he suffered while being in the Chinese government for 2 years. Of course it isn't revealed what happened. Judging by the scar on his hand and the whip marks on his back, he was tortured.
So many questions asked and they will be revealed in the next coming episodes. We are in for a ride!
This was our first time with a dog. Thanks to our friend, Chris, we had the opportunity last Saturday and Sunday. Dinger was well behaved and a good dog. Enjoy the pictures.
Nothing much to watch on a Tuesday night, so I saw this show. I guess it was the first episode. What did I think of it...eh?
My mom was big into tabloid magazines and since she had them around, it was good reading material. But I don't usually pay much attention to them. I just see the headlines when I am paying for my groceries.
Back to the show. There was some nudity and adult contents. A few curse words. Thing is, the storyline didn't grab my attention.
I am not sure if this show will last. Now a days, people prefer reality shows.
Meeting our nephew Jacob Bill and I flew down to visit him and my in-laws for his 1st birthday.
Celebrated our 3 year anniversary It seems like it's been longer than that since our wedding. Time sure flies by!
World Cup Soccer Unfortunately our country did not do well and the infamous head butt incident.
2 First times I got the chance to see the Giants play in SBC Park or Pac Bell Park or not sure what they call it now? I've seen the Giants play in Candlestick but I have to say Pac Bell is beautiful and I had a great time. And I go to see the San Jose Sharks play against the New Jersey Devils and guess what...they won! Sold out and the crowd wasn't that bad. I too had fun.
Favorite Hannukah/Christmas gift My iPod nano aka Lil Red. Love it and thank you Hunnay!
Don't drink and drive. Be safe....Happy New Years!!!!!!!
My friend Dewi, Andrew and the kids went to Panama Beach a two hour drive from Tallahassee. The beach was beautiful with white sand. I just enjoyed the sun and waded in the water for a bit but walked back to land. We also had a picnic. I had a great time. That night when we drove back, I felt an itch on my left ankle and leg. Of course I started scratching it and thought it's another mosquito bite. Sunday morning I got up and ready for the airport. My leg felt real sore and warm again I wasn't thinking much of it.
I get home Sunday night and the itch is red and ankle is slightly swollen. I went to work the next day and I couldn't walk right and my ankle felt numb. I got home and the ankle was swollen 3 times its size and my inner calf was swollen, red and senstive to the touch. DH took me to urgent care and I had an infection. They gave me a shot of antibiotic which made me feel comfortble. I had to elevate my feet at all times. I had to stay home the next and see the doctor for a follow-up on the leg. The leg looked better and the swelling went down. He said I had to stay home another day and keep elevating the leg with a warm towel on the red area. I also was given 10 days worth of antibiotics. All is well, the leg has heeled! Again I had a great time seeing Dewi, Andrew, Steven, Jacob, Erica, Buttercup "cat" and Crush "dog."
